Doing Research at a Distance: Ethical Challenges and Opportunities

June 9, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm UTC-4

Hosts: Eva Kehayia (McGill University/CRIR) & Anik Nolet (CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal)

Date: June 9, 2020

Time: 12pm – 1pm Eastern Time (GMT -4)

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, research with human participants has either stopped or is forced to be conducted differently and at a distance. We explore some of the potential ethical challenges and opportunities from the perspective of the Research Ethics Board, the researchers, and the participants.  We then present an example of a research project that is modifying its methods to accommodate the current context and discuss the issues arising. We invite your questions that you can send in advance or voice during the session.

Questions for this Office Hour may be submitted beforehand: Open Office Hours Q&A
