The SSHRC Words in the World Partnered Research Training Initiative is a project that focuses on the development of research trainees, in collaboration with research communities, industry, and community partners.

The project has three main subgoals: to develop psycholinguistic methods with real-world permeability, moving laboratory techniques into the real-world and real word issues into the laboratory; to understand the real world determinants of processing, including the roles of specific language experience, situational contexts, and changes over the lifespan; and to build innovation and real-world language solutions, through the development of software for experimental research, tools for language assessment and improvement, and open access and licensed data sources.
